March and April Favorites 2023
Hello, friends! How have you been the past few months? We’re back with another list of favorites for March & April! March was all about gearing up for the busyness of April, yet through the hustle and bustle, I finally found a moment to sit down and crank out this blog.
Without further ado, here’s a list of things I enjoyed during the past couple of months:
First and foremost, here’s a song I’ve been obsessing over. It’s not a new song and definitely not a song I’ve just discovered. I just have been loving it so much recently:
Glossier Rose Balm Dotcom
I’m late to the Glossier game, I know. I wasn’t very into makeup in high school and taught myself everything I know in college and even now. When Glossier was recently added to Sephora, I knew I had to try one of their products. I instantly gravitated toward their Balm Dotcoms, from the packaging to the scents and flavors, this product looked promising. I chose the Rose Balm Dotcom and I love it! It has a soft floral scent and a nice, thick texture with a sheer pink color. I can’t wait to try their other products!
Makeup Brush Cleaning Mat
I’ve wanted a cleaning mat for my makeup brushes for the longest time, but I kept telling myself I didn’t need one, since I can easily clean my brushes without one. Finally, I saw one at the dollar section at Target and decided to get one. OMG, cleaning my brushes with a mat has cut my cleaning time in half! It’s worth the cost (even if that cost is $3 lol) and I honestly should have bought one years ago. It even has suction cups on the bottom so it can stick to a sink or other hard surface for an efficient cleaning.
Reusable Silicone Brow Mask
I saw this reusable brow mask at Target and was really excited to try it! I’ve seen lots of products online that claim to reduce wrinkles, especially on the forehead, and thought it was cool to come across a sustainable one. In addition to the anti-aging benefits, this mask also helps skincare products soak into your skin better by creating a barrier. I don’t use this product every night (it can get annoying wearing something on your forehead all night), but whenever I do use it, it feels like such a luxury.
This mask is from Pacifica and comes with a metal tin with small holes on the side of it so you can easily wash and dry the mask.
When I put on my mask, do NOT disturb me— no calls or texts ALLOWED. I am in a state of relaxation, pure and absolute bliss. This is how I look and feel with the mask on:
Vinyl Records
I recently started collecting vinyl records! Yay! I love the artwork and aesthetics of each vinyl record, and it’s a great way to support artists. I also love going to a new record store and seeing what records they have in stock. It’s like a scavenger hunt. Some records I’ve recently gotten are Walk the Moon’s 10th anniversary self-titled album, Cage the Elephant’s Social Cues, and COIN’s Uncanny Valley (pictured below). I can’t wait to see how my collection grows!
Let’s step away from things I’ve purchased the past couple of months and dive into the free things I’ve enjoyed.
5-Minute Stretches in the Morning
If you remember from my previous blogs, I am constantly working on perfecting my morning and night routines. I’ve started to incorporate stretching for 5 minutes in my morning routine and it’s made such a difference in feeling more relaxed and ready to take on my day. In addition, knowing that I’m taking even just 5 minutes for myself makes me feel incredible. Investing in yourself and your routines is something I’ll always advocate for.
App Limits
I both love and hate app limits on my phone lol. I recently realized that I spend quite a bit of time on social media and on my phone in general. In efforts to try to decrease my screen time, I set up app limits on certain social media apps. It’s interesting seeing how some days I’ll hit a limit at 2 pm (lol oops), and others I’ll hit the limit right before bedtime. I think this method has worked in some sense to lower my screen time, but this is definitely a tough battle. I want to spend less time on my phone but at the same time, how do I stay updated with news from around the country, and know what my friends are up to?
Do y’all have any tips for lowering your screen time and reliance on social media?
9 pm Bedtime
This is another tough one, as it’s so hard to achieve. Whenever I can, I try to go to bed at around 9 pm so that I get a full night’s rest for tomorrow’s activities. I found that 9 pm works best for me, since I’ll wake up rested and prepared for my 7 am shifts. This isn’t always possible with everything I have going on (girlbossing, etc.), but it’s always nice whenever I can go to bed early.
That wraps up what I’ve loved the past two months! Have you tried any of these?
Until next time, friends!
OMG, have you heard? I have a Ko-fi now! Click here to buy me a coffee (or, tea :) to help support the blog! Definitely not necessary, but always appreciated! 💗 Thank you for reading & supporting my hobby!
