Nostalgia at a Bus Stop

I didn’t have a car before this year, so for the entirety of my 8-month internship last year, I took the bus to and from work.

I also asked friends for rides whenever possible.  It became a running joke that the first thing I’d ask someone who had a similar shift as me was, “can you give me a ride home?”  I just didn’t want to wait 30+ minutes for the bus to pick me up to get home and relax, y’all.   (But thanks to all my friends who gave me rides home and went out of their ways to pick me up. Y’all are the best!)

This is a mini blog post I write as I’m waiting for the bus to take me to Disneyland.  I’m hanging out with my friends on my day off.  It’s been a busy day so far, so I’m looking forward to unwinding and relaxing.

Sititng here and waiting for the bus is incredibly nostalgic for me.  This is the exact same spot, sights, and sounds, I saw and heard last year.

Right now, I am sitting on the corner of the bench, with a clear view of the street so I can see when the bus turns into the street.  In the morning, this faces directly into the sun, so sunglasses were always a must.

I also have headphones and am blasting my favorite music. Today, it’s BRONCHO’s new album Bad Bahavior.  Last year, it was COIN.

It’s also Taco Tuesday.  The bus has arrived.
