Winter Favorites 2024

Winter is nearly over! We have braved the coldest nights, shortest days, and if you’re in California like me, the rainiest storms.

Let’s dive into some of my favorites for this season.

One album I’ve been listening to nonstop is The Vaccines’ new Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations.

Supergoop! Play Sunscreen Lip Shield SPF 30 - Strawberry

While exploring Ulta one day with no intention of buying anything, I walked out with a new lip balm sunscreen. This one from Supergoop! is so nice. It isn’t super greasy and has a faint, subtle strawberry scent. I incorporate it into my daily skincare routine for added SPF protection.

e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm - Grape

I love this lip balm! It’s so thick and moisturizing, plus the gloss and subtle grape scent is pleasant. Its small size makes it perfect for on-the-go.

ONE/SIZE Cheek Clapper 3D Blush Trio Palette - Freaky Peach

This blush blends so naturally onto the skin. It comes with three blushes in one: a cream, matte, and a sheen blush. The shades are the perfect coral peachy color that are buildable to suit any occasion. I also love the fun name!

Cocokind Ceramide Barrier Serum

This skincare serum isn’t new to my routine, but I love it so much that it deserves a spot on the list. The serum aims to protect the skin barrier and keep the skin hydrated, which is incredibly helpful during the cold winter months. It also has a nice Play-Doh smell. I’ve bought this product for my skincare routine multiple times and I really can’t recommend it enough.

Lush Honey I Washed the Kids Soap Bar

Whenever I want a luxurious shower, I am sure to use this sweet, caramel and honey-scented soap. It feels extra moisturizing and like I’m treating myself. I also love that it’s affordable and sustainable.

Link to the soap because I’ve used most of mine up and can’t provide my own picture.

“Ariadne” by Jennifer Saint

I picked up this book because of the title’s similarity to my name, not realizing it was a retelling of the Theseus and the Minotaur Greek myth. This was such a captivating book that I couldn’t put it down. It gives a feminist lens to the original myth, focusing on the true heroine and princess of Crete who got Theseus through the maze to defeat the Minotaur— Ariadne. I love Jennifer Saint’s storytelling and how she captured Ariadne’s deepest thoughts and fears as she navigates the decision to betray her family to save her island from the Minotaur.

If you get a chance, please read this book!

Twinings Peach & Orange Tea

If I’ve discovered anything about myself in the past few years it’s that I love peach: peach tea, peach-scented body wash, and Princess Peach, to name a few things. This Twinings Peach & Orange Tea is a great tea that has a lot of flavor and smells so nice. I love drinking it in the morning, to start my day off with a warm, pleasant drink.

Excuse the poor lighting as I was figuring out what background to hold my products in at my new home.

Homemade Protein Pizza

I love discovering new recipes to add to my rotation, especially ones that are quick and easy to make. I recently came across a video online of someone making a high-protein pizza. In their recipe, they combined flour, seasonings, and yogurt for their pizza crust. I tried this recipe, adding my own toppings of choice (Italian sausage and mushrooms, duh), and it turned out really yummy! I think I still need to work out the recipe a bit (okay, what is yeast, exactly?), but it tastes delicious and is a great protein-rich dinner when you’re on a time crunch.

It is incredibly hard to form a perfect circle for a pizza crust. Any tips are appreciated!

Thank you for tuning into my winter favorites for this year! Is there anything from this list you’re going to try?

Until next time, friends!
