Lip Balm Tour

Lip Balm Tour

Let’s try something fun on the blog.

I talk about new makeup and skincare products I buy in my regular Favorites blog series, but I haven’t mentioned the staples I use throughout the year.

As someone who values her lip health, I currently have 11 bedside lip balms I use every night. Yes, 11. And yes, I use them all depending on my mood or what kind of moisture I’m looking for. Many of my lip products were gifted and some were ones I bought to splurge and treat myself.

(Note: to ensure I don’t consume more than I need, I don’t intend to buy any more lip products until I run out of these. I am, however, gifted a lot throughout the year [and I appreciate every single one!!] and sometimes need to buy another when I’m out/traveling/lose one.)

Let’s walk through all my lip balms and products, shall we?

Vaseline

My tried and true, my day one, my everything. If my lips are dry and chapped, I turn to Vaseline. If they’re cracked, I’ve likely neglected my Vaseline. I have several containers in different areas of my room, my work backpack, and my work desk. It gets the job done and does it so well— moisturizing my lips and locking it in for hours.

Supergoop! Play SPF 30

I use this one every morning and re-apply throughout the day as needed for sun protection. I like the unique shape of the lip balm and the light scent. I try to keep at least one lip balm with SPF in my daily rotation for protection.

Ilia Lip Wrap Reviving Balm

This one was a gift— and I love it so much! It’s lightweight and has a nice, subtle (lemony?) scent. I like to put this balm in my purse and take it to-go since it’s smaller than some of my other lip balms.

Glossier Balm Dot Com - Strawberry, Birthday, & Rose

I bought Rose, my first ever Glossier product when Glossier first became available at Sephora. I bought it in the new formula, though. I didn't have anything else to compare it to, so it worked fine for me. Then, when I traveled to NYC and visited the Glossier store in person, I bought myself Birthday as a birthday gift (I had to). Finally, Glossier announced the (return of?) Strawberry shade in the original formula and I bought it on an impulse. I can see now why everyone loves the original formula— so moisturizing, nourishing, and smells amazing. I reach for Strawberry the most.

Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment - Watermelon Slice

I had been eyeing Rhode this past year since everyone seemed to be talking about their lip treatments at one point (A+ marketing). I finally caved and tried Watermelon Slice. I’ve talked about this lip balm before, but I love how thick and moisturizing it is. I don’t need to reapply for hours because of how well it keeps my lips moisturized.

I reach for this when I’m about to run errands and want my lips protected before I step out. One flaw I didn’t realize until I saw other people talking about it online was how grainy the lip balm texture is. I thought it was just supposed to be like that lol, but that is not the case. I try to ignore the grain… I already bought the product and like using it otherwise.

e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm

This was another gift! It smells so fruity and is really fun to apply. I reach for this when I need a pick-me-up, something to lighten my mood and energy. Its small size also makes it easy to pack in my purse when running errands.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - Berry

I got this lippie as a Sephora birthday gift a couple of years ago (if it’s expired, do NOT tell me— I’m almost done with it). Since it’s a sleeping mask, I apply this when I’m about to go to sleep and wake up with the softest, most moisturized lips. I still have some product left even though it’s a sample size simply because I forget to apply it every single night lol. I want to try all of the flavors someday!

Spot the one lip balm I forgot to take a photo of during golden hour.

Bath & Body Works - Strawberry Pound Cake

I think this one is technically a lip gloss rather than a balm, but I like it a lot! It really does smell and taste like strawberry pound cake, too! It fits perfectly over lipstick or liner to add extra gloss and shine.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment - Petal

My absolute favorite skincare brand is Fresh and if I had enough money, I’d buy all their skincare products. For now, I’ll settle with their lip balms. They’re so pigmented, bright, and nourishing. I always get compliments whenever I wear one of their vibrant shades.

It’s been years, but I’m still waiting for their color Passion to return. If you’re reading this, Fresh, the people want Passion back in the lineup!

Thank you for joining me on this intimate tour of my bedside lippies!

Which lip care products do you have by your bed?

Until next time, dear friends.
